Daisy Dream Kitchen @ West Coast
I am an avid food lover. The best way to indulge in local delights is when you sit at the roadside stall with a local, talk to a local, and eat like a local.

马蹄花生煎饼
This dessert is something new and first time trying it. Thin crust layer pan fried till crispy with crunchy chestnuts.

山猪肉
This is quite a rare dish and not all teochew restaurants have it all time. Wanting to eat it, have to depends on availability (and luck too).

卤水鹅
The meat is tender and soft. The sauce is light and fragrance. Worthy dish to try.

奶白韭菜
Light-fried of the inner shoot of the 韭菜, a decent (and ex) dish to try.

蚝煎蛋
Pan fried till crispy with fresh oysters without being too oily, a vast difference compared to those we ate at local hawker centre where they cooked with heavy dose of oil.

猪脚冻
A must-order dish when one goes to a teochew restaurant! Compared to the others that we tried elsewhere, this one definitely more meat within. Delicious.

Wanton mee
This is the stall that moved from the old National Library. Noodles is powdery, sauce is plain, char-siew so-so. A disappointment. Definitely over-rated. And amid to media reports, the old ah ma does not cook the noodles personally anymore.

A post to create awareness on animal abuse
This post is written with a view to create awareness on animal abuse.
This poor little doggy has been kept as a breeder in a tiny cage all his life and got deserted by his owner. Volunteers from HOPE Dog Rescue [http://hopedogrescue.blogspot.com] rescued him and shocked to discover him in such bad shape - malnutrition, illness, skinny to bones etc. Worst of all - they realised he does not even know how to lie down to sleep (??!!). That is how much this poor little doggy has suffered.
Please read through the blog site of this local animal group and help spread the words around. The group is purely a volunteering group and without any proper funding nor supports. All its fund came from the volunteers themselves and much rely on Samaritans donations.
Spare me 52secs of your life and watch the below heartbreaking video. See on how the poor little dog dozing off, in an upright sitting position. Totally pains my heart while watching. Go get your tissues ready cos it gonna tear your heart apart...
p/s - I am not associate with HOPE Dog Rescue in any way, neither they have approached me to write this post. This post is purely voluntary out of my own accord and this is the least I could do. I have utmost respect to all the volunteers for all their passion, love and effort and applauds them for all the good deeds they are doing.

Wanton mee
They use the 'armpit' portion meat, where the meat is tender and charred to almost perfection. A little pity is the soggy type of noodles used which I don't like. Nevertheless, this is a must eat stall for wanton mee lovers.

Wanton mee
I prefer Singapore's version of wanton mee than Malaysia's version. Reason being - most of the Msia's version are served with dark sauce and without chilli. I have been eating in this stall for the past two decades. Very subjective - but I still am enjoying the taste.

Wanton mee
The noodles are nice with the wanton dumpling a pleasant surprise. Wouldn't say the same for the char siew though as I personally prefer those with a bit charred and not so sweet.

猪脚冻
This is one authentic teochew delicacy and not many know how to appreciate this. Not easily available nowadays except maybe in some teochew restaurants. This serving cost an economical $5. Wonderful taste.

Cheese salad
A simple dish with delightful cheese slices. Best to serve with the complimentary bread.

Seafood penne
The eggs, cheese and ingredients make this dish delicious. However, to note that it is very filling and best to order and share among.

Creamy mushroom pasta
The sauce is very rich & creamy. A nice Italian restaurant in the heart of CBD area. Located in the stretch of shophouses near to Amoy Street. Main course range from $18 onwards. Slightly pricey, but worth the price.
